Gauge: 15 stitches/23 rows =4x4 inches

Satin ribbon, or pom-pom
Instructions
Co 36 sts and knit k1,p1 ribbing for three rows
Row 1: k1*,p1,yo,k2tog,p1,k1* rep from *-* to end
Row 2: p1*,k1,p2,k1,p1* rep from *-* to end.
Row 3: k1* p1,k2tog,yo,p1,k1* rep from *-* to end
Row 4: p1*,k1,p2,k1,p1* rep from *-* to end.
Row 5-14: repeat 1-4
Row 15: K1, k2tog,k1,p1,k1,*p1, k2tog,yo,p1,k1* rep from *-* 5 times,p1,k1, k2tog, k1
Row 16: p3, then knit the knits, purl the purls and yos.
Continue decreasing on right side rows until

Make two.
Assembly
Try the two parts on your teapot and put safety pins to mark the holes for the handle and spout. Using mattress stitch seam the two pieces together. Thread the satin ribbon through the top, and make a nice bow. Or you can sew the top shut and add a pom-pom. Now go make yourself some nice hot tea.
